When Life Hands You Lemons

… Why not make Strawberry Lemonades, or better yet, a Lemon Merigue Pie. Believe me, it’s easier said than done. But then again, we have had enough. Wasting time wallowing in our sorrows and distress. That we thought, a family outing wouldn’t be such a bad idea. The next thing we know, Mom and Dad Aldo surprised us for a week end in Monterey. They bought tickets for the Bay Aquarium and reservations down Bubba Gumps for lunch. And later in the day, we walked along Asilomar Beach and watch the sun set on the horizon. It was absolutely beautiful! And what made it best, are the people I am with. We laugh and shared stories as if it was our last day on earth. Now, who cares for lemons?

people vs things..this was discussed by r pausch in his last lecture, a clip i saw somewhere and copied on my blog..accdg to him, dont waste time on things..people matter the most..:)
im so glad you had fun spending time with people you love! keep on enjoying and living life!:)

totoo yan, dang. we tend to spend so much time making money and trying to gain more tangible stuff, that we’re starting to forget how to enjoy the pleasures of life. truth be told, eh i also have a hard time letting go of material things pero unti unti kong na realize that they don’t matter. as long as our families okay eh ayos na yon. sabi nga ng dad ko, ang pera kinikita yan. thanks so much for your kind comment, God bless 😀

Nell, you are one lucky man… spending time with family and those you love are the best… irreplaceable.

I hope you (we all) have more of those moments.

    PS: I miss Bubba Gumps…

your one lucky man as well, keith. it was indeed a wonderful moment in time, funny cause all of us were teary eyed after that walk by the beach. it must have been one heartwarming event for us all. and speaking of bubba gumps, i still can’t get over there ‘shrimp new orleans’ and baby back ribs. hahaha

Hi Nell. Yes, spending time with family and loved ones cannot be beat. Also what a beautiful area to share with them. I love the California Coast, especially the Monterey area.

    Keep livin’, keep lovin’…

thank you, goyo. it was a time well spent and i will remember that walk forever. maybe because it’s one of the most heatwarming one, mom and siblings were able to open up kasi. and share our thoughts about mom’s illness. of course, mom cried the whole time. heheheh! and speaking of beaches, i look forward to visiting carmel river beach this coming week end. our good neighbour said that the shore is gorgeous. thanks for your kind comment, goyo. God bless 😉

ps: let’s keep living and loving…
