Overnight At The Emergency Hotel

Just kidding! It was no hotel, but a small room in the emergency department of Kaiser Hospital. A co-worker drove me there upon the advice of a doctor. I was experiencing severe shortness of breath, chest tightness, pain on the side of my chest wall and non stop coughing. So, I pretty much had the combo except for the drink. Hahahaha!

Forgive me for laughing, but I have every reason to be happy now;ย since I’m feeling much better that I was yesterday. After a series of nebulizing treatment, someย steroids and this drowsy meds they put in my IV. I was then sound asleep, like a baby. I was so releived, after having so many sleepless nights cause of coughing and chest discomfort.

Doctor said that I need to take Prednisone for a week, along with two inhalers and some antibiotics. I was then discharged at 4 AM today. All I need to do is make aย follow up appointment with my regular doctor in three days. So here am in bed (at home), happy to be finally breathing again!

ERRRRR

  1. huy nelli! ano ka ba?! i’m glad you’re out of the hospital. take it easy ok?! hindi nakakatawa yan. grrrr! pag nagmakulit ka, pupuntahan kita jan para lang sabunutan! ๐Ÿ˜› seriously, please do take it easy. get plenty of rest and do whatever the doctor tells you! hugs and kisses to you! mmmwah!

  2. Oh no! Poor you!! I’ve been to ER one too many times so I know how it’s like. Would you believe I experienced a shortness of breath at Home Depot and the hubs had to bring me to ER? Of all places, sa Home Depot pa. It’s not like I got excited over lumber and nails. Did they say what may have caused your shortness of breath, etc. I’ve been on Prednisone many a times too . . . for some reason, taking that always made me hungry! Well, get some rest and stay off the lap top!! BTW . . . I made your Beef with Lemongrass Soup this evening. The recipe is definitely a keeper. Now the hubs wants me to make Thess’ recipe with the bagoong next. ๐Ÿ™‚ Easy lang, ha!

  3. hello rose! wish i can say, i hate hospitals. but i happen to work for one. hahaha! how about saying, i hate ER’s. i didn’t exactly picture myself spending a night in the hospital. but i was desperate and gasping for air, so it was better than going down the grave. dba? hahahah, thanks for your kind concern dear. i promise to take it easy ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. hello mommy weng! promise, i wont be makulit at masakit kaya ang sabunot hah. hehehe! i think i was a good patient naman, i did follow the doctors orders and taking my meds religiously. besides, i don’t feel like dragging myself to the ER again. kaloka yata ang copay hah, hahaha! not including the hassle and the people who went our of there way to come to my aid. kakahiya sa kanila, sobra. kaya really learned my lesson, never wait for the worse to happen. amen! thanks for the hugs and kisses, i’m already on the way to wellness. mwaaah ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. hi lulu, forgive me but i can’t lay off the laptop. it’s hard fighting that temptation, hehehe.

as for you naman, sa home depot? is there really anything in there that’s worth or could have caused that shortness of breath? must be those hunky associates? hmmm, aminin! i for sure like going to home depot and seeing all these blue collared men-at-work. oh my, look at what i’m saying. can’t beleive i just said that, hahaha!

anyhow, let’s just go back to my health. glad to say that i’m feeling much better. and in a couple more days, i’ll probably be back to my old self. i really should have gone to the doctor earlier. but i was being stubborn, kaya na ER tuloy. hahaha

ps: you did the soup, yipee. panalo ba kay hubs and your kids?

  6. hi nell, i’m relieved to hear that you’re doing better. spending a night in the hospital is not so bad, at least you got the medical treatment that you needed (kesa naman bigla ka na lang mag-collapse somewhere! wa poise!).

take lots of care, ok? *muah*

BANGGE: it’s not asthma raw, they call it reactive airway disease (kamag-anak yata ng asthma, hehehe) caused by some viral illness and bronchitis. but im ok now, since they gave me some of that prednisone which i’m taking this whole week. be rest assured, that i’m fine now. thanks for your concern, friend ๐Ÿ™‚

MEEYA: oh my, wa poise talaga kong bumagsak ako in the middle of nowhere. besides the advice doctor clearly said that i need not drive, but have someone take me or call 911 raw. good thing andy (a co-worker) was still around the area and got to me in time. after i had the treatments in the ER, grabe ang feeling. i felt unburdened at nakatulog pa ako. i must be so tired talaga from doing all the hard breathing. thanks for your kind concern dear, mwaaah ๐Ÿ˜€

JON: thank you. i’m a bit adamant when it comes to doctors visit, had to learn the hard way. hehehe! what’s good is that i’m on my way to getting better, right ๐Ÿ˜‰

JEN: consider it done! mom came over and took care of me, same with ted. i sure had a hearty meal. mom cooked me some bistek tagalog and nilagang baka. while ted bought me some desert, sans rival from goldilocks. hehehe! even dad was here, asking what i’d like to have for lunch. i can really get use to this grand-like treatment. hahaha

  9. feeling much better, bw! i’m getting there. the meds and the days off has helped me a lot, hehehe. thanks for your kind concern, i’ll try not to get myself in trouble. hahaha ๐Ÿ˜€
