Faves
” My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income. “
- Errol Flynn -
Fetish for earthly things, I think it’s part of human nature. Here are some of my sensual faves:

PHOTOGRAPHY. I’m no professional, it’s a hobby in the making. Friends artwork has inspired me to jump into new waters, taking photos and images. They’re my eye teasers and muses in life. I wish to capture a piece of time and memory, then frame it for my eyes to see.

BOOKS : My taste in books varies from time to time. But I lean more towards the ones that are historically inspired, I even like “poshly” type kind of reads. But my all time favorites are as follows — Beloved by Toni Morrison, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, A Dance to the Music of Time by Anthony Powell, The Heart of the Matter by Graham Greene, The French Lieutenants Woman by John Fowles and The Shopaholic Sequel by Sophie Kinsella.

CATS / CAT STUFF: As a cat loving person, I collect feline books and knick knacks. From a plain sticker to a crystal figurine (even my personal checks and office decor are all cat inspired, hehehe). But my lively-curious cats are my all-time fave. My Devon Rex- Cuddle Bug, Poka, Sweetums and Moochie. My Tonkinese – Saffi, Kalypso, Bon Bon and Bella.
EYE WEAR: I’ve been wearing prescription eyeglasses since 2000 (lately, been trying contact lens). It started with just one pair and without even knowing, I now have quite a few pairs. I’m crazy over the plastic ones, I think it has more character; ask me? it cost less. I mix-and-match the eye wear with my outfit. I like different colors, design, frame shapes. The one I like most was this pair I bought from Costco a year ago, a brown and yellow DKNY plastic eyeglasses.

SOCKS: My other addiction! From self-colored to stripes and animal prints. I can’t just have one pair, there’s always room for more. “How many feet do you have? do you have more than two?” as my sister once commented. I’m a ”sock looney”, that’s my excuse. My fave socks — the Angora wool socks I got two years ago (still in good condition) and Krazy Cats socks . They’re funky and super comfy!

BIRKS. They’re my favorite footwear. If only I can wear this to work, I will. So whenever I’m outdoor or even around the house; expect to see me wearing a pair. I never get tired of wearing them, they’re down right cushy- cushy!

ORCHIDS: Love of orchids was something I inherited from my parents. As a child, I remember extending a helping hand and attending to our garden in Manila. At a tender age of 13, I was able to make a hardy orchid plant (Paphiopedulum Philipinesis) bloom to perfection. From that day onwards, I was hooked! My collection now are mostly Cymbidiums and Phalaenopsis, that lavishly blooms at my home under cozy California weather.

JOURNALS: I write as I please — It’s therapeutic. I tend to use 3-4 journals in a year. I write for emotional release, it’s my “all natural” anti-stress medication.

PENS: Fine point pens are my favorites. I write too much, so pens come as a necessity. I like pencils, too, depends on my mood or if I’d like to sketch while writing.

COFFEE: Use to make two trips to a coffee shop twice a day (realize it’s too expensive). Till I learned how to make my own coffee. I like bold flavors with a hint of earthy pleasure. The most unusual coffee I’ve had, Toasted Rice Coffee from Bukidnon and Bourbon Pointu; thought to be extinct (so they say).

MOVIES / DVD’s: Watching too many movies and DVD’s may have been the reason behind my poor vision; but that I won’t admit (except here, hehehe). I’m a sucker for dramas, romantic comedies, action, indie films and martial arts. My faves include — Love Affair, Scent of a Woman, Casablanca, Il Postino, Joy Luck Club and House of Flying Daggers. (to name a few)
WEB DENS:
What keeps me happy, keeps me sane…
I have this habit of keeping myself busy, keeping myself entertained. You don’t want to know the crazy stuff going through my head when I’m not on the go. So to keep the world a better place (i’m no criminal or gunman, if that’s what you’re thinking), I need some sort of diversion. Hobbies, keep me in tune. But I find the web much more amusing. When I’m not blogging myself through and through. You’ll find me and my brain attached to my laptop (visually speaking, that sounded nauseating).
I consider WordPress my new home, but from time to time; you’ll find me jumping from one place to another. I’d go everywhere and do anything to keep this moron entertained. Here are some of my habitats in cyberspace:

i love Il Postino arnelli. is that your collection of dvds? and your book “tower”, i love. napaka-barbaric ng pag-aayos pero di naman halata na mahilig ka magbasa, hehe!
thanks for the kind comment, abby! “il postino” was an inspiring film, makailang beses ko na ngang pinanood eh. it’s a classic, dba? sensya na sa ayos ng books, wala ng mapaglagyan, hehehe.
graaaaabe! nelya, pramis naaliw ako sa ecclectic book collection mo. was trying to name a few thru recognition of its cover, pro i failed. morrison and golden are darlings. but to kill a mockingbird and anne of green gables top my list!
and abbyg, wait till you see mine. yun talaga ang barbaric! and take note, i’m dreaming of building my own library when i get old a! hay burara ever!
and the journal a, i like! now i’m inspired to dig all my journals way back teeny bopper years. haaay! nostalgic.
bangge, sale halos ang mga books na yan. hango sa “75-80% off” section sa barnes or borders, hehehe. isama mo pa ang ukay ukay sa thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales. kong may gusto kang books, just let me know po. would be happy to contribute books for your library.
journals, they’re a good companion. they gladly absorb my life’s up’s and down’s and they never complain, hehehe.
dba you’re into moleskins? if you want to save, you can buy them in bulk. just bought some from http://www.moleskineus.com/ and they cost much less than buying them retail.
thanks for the heads up on the books, i haven’t red those two. be happy to read them soon. God bless!
nell, il postino fan din ako!!! pablo neruda forever!
ang books ko sa pinas parang ganyan, pero dito wala. unless gusto mong makita ang hard drive ko na punong-puno ng ebooks hehehe.
i love coffee, too. pero since i had ninna, not so much na. pampagising na lang pag kailangan.
i had a fountain pen collection before, pero i gave it away to my cousin who continued the collection dahil, bukod sa ubos na ang pera ko, i just lost steam, hehe. but i love a good pen.
hmm, ano pa ba? i’m more of a dog lover, though. pero that doesn’t mean i don’t like cats. i love them, too.
love il postino, ngayon ko nga lang nalaman na pablo neruda pala sya. now, im dying to read his poetry na.
books, that’s really one of my addiction. i even opened a credit card exclusively for my book purchase. hahahah, fanatic ba?
coffee, not a day without it! ewan ko ba, feeling ko eh wala akong energy without it. addictus na rin ako sa kape, nasayang ang pagpapa-bleach ng ipin. hahaha!
fountain pen, fine ballpoint pen and calligraphy stuff are my faves. up to now kasi eh hilig ko pa rin ang magsulat. kahit wala namang katuturan yong iba! kaya sa bahay pag may kelangan ng pen eh sa akin nakatingin, hehehe!
cats, dogs or any animals, i like them all! but cats have a softer spot. what i like about them is there independence. they can be by themselves and also appreciate a good company (parang ako rin). just imagine this, i have a king size bed with all 8 cats snuggling in it. so warm and cozy! saves me money on a heater, hehehe.
I love your orchid plant! You’re quite the master creator yourself.
Don’t know much about pens, but I have a Montblanc Meisterstuck fountain pen which I rarely use. Bleh. Linking ya back!
hello freshmess! thanks for the kind words. orchids are one of my favorite flowers and making them bloom to perfection is one of my hobbies.
that pen you have there, that is very nice. use it, but keep it safe. meisterstuck is a pricey montblanc line. if you have the #149, that’s a $600+ pen. i also have one, they call it mozart and i love using it on my journals. it gives me the old time feel! thanks again and God bless =)
i love my birks too!
guess what, my first pair is still with me and it’s still good. i’ve had them since i was in 3rd year HS and that’s about 9 years already. hehe!
super comfy nila, dba? the oldest pair i have was back from 1998. something i got on sale, heheheh
hi nell! from here on, you are my new role model
wow, that’s a lot to take. but i thank you so much for that. i hope i can live up to your expectation, hehehe. thanks again and God bless
